In 2004 Alexander Glöggler (right) and Philipp Jungk (left) founded the percussion duo Double Drums after completing their master class diplomas with Prof. Sadlo at the Munich University of Music.

As scholars of the "Live Music Now" association founded by Yehudi Menuhin they gave more than 100 concerts.

In 2010 Double Drums was awarded the Bayerische Kunstförderpreis (Bavarian Award for the Promotion of Arts) by the Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts.

During their concert tours both in Germany and abroad they have performed at international festivals such as the 1. Celibidache Festival, the KlassikMix-Festival of Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation), the "Meet in Bejing" Festival and the International Dance Festival.

They have performed for productions for Bavarian TV, i. e. as a live act during "Sternstunden Gala 2010", for ZDF, CCTV and other broadcasting corporations and have been portrayed by Bavarian and Chinese TV corporations.

Their work brought them together with artists and conductors such as Alexander Liebreich, Christoph Poppen, Sol Gabetta, Hermann Weindorf, Li Biao and Jörg Widmann.

Alexander Glöggler and Philipp Jungk have supported childrens' and youth projects for many years, e.g. percussion workshops with an integrative character, education programmes in primary and secondary schools, musical assistance for blind and visually impaired people at SWW-München (Southern Bavarian accomodation and sheltered workshops) or creative work with pupils of all ages at Bavarian schools. Together with the Munich Chamber Orchestra and children of the "Down Kind e.V." Double Drums performed before an enthusiastic audience at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

The annual tours of the "Li Biao Percussion Group" lead them to the large concert halls of Asia such as the Bejing National Centre of Performing Arts, the Forbidden City Concert Hall, the Shanghai Concert Hall, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Yantai, Quingdao, Souzhou and the Xinghai Concert Hall in Ghuangzhou.
